The fan-favorite mode. Frequency data blooms outward into a breathtaking radial display that pulses and morphs with every sound.
The Circular Wave Visualizer is the most visually captivating mode in the WebGuysLLC Audio Visualizer. Instead of displaying frequency data as horizontal bars or a flat waveform, it projects the audio signal radially around a central point — creating a circular, mandala-like pattern that expands, contracts, and morphs in real time as the music plays.
Every spike you see radiating outward from the center represents a frequency in your audio at that exact moment. The farther the spike extends, the louder that frequency is. As the audio changes — a bass drop, a soaring melody, a percussive hit — the entire shape shifts and blooms in response. The result is one of the most mesmerizing visuals you can generate in a browser, and it's entirely driven by your live audio.
This mode was inspired by polar frequency visualizers seen in professional audio software and music videos, but it runs entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API and HTML5 Canvas — no plugins, no installs, completely free.
Among all eight visualization modes, Circular Wave consistently draws the most attention from streamers, content creators, and casual users alike. The reasons are simple: the circular geometry is inherently beautiful, the symmetry feels intentional and designed, and the interaction between audio and visuals is immediately obvious. Viewers instinctively understand that the shape is reacting to the sound — even without being told.
Paired with the Rainbow color scheme, the Circular Wave mode produces the iconic multicolored bloom seen in the screenshot on the Visualizer Hub. The full visible spectrum cycles around the circle, so every frequency range gets its own color — bass in deep reds and oranges, mids in yellows and greens, highs in blues and violets. The effect is genuinely stunning and unique to this mode.
Here are the settings that produce the best results for different scenarios:
To use Circular Wave as a streaming overlay in OBS, add the visualizer as a Browser Source, then apply a circular crop/mask using OBS's Image Mask/Blend filter. This isolates the circular bloom and removes the dark background corners perfectly.
If you love the circular geometry of this mode but want something with more explosive energy, check out the Radial Burst mode. While Circular Wave creates a continuous, flowing bloom, Radial Burst fires discrete spikes outward from the center with each beat — more like a starburst explosion than a flowing mandala. Both are excellent; the choice depends on the energy level of your content.
